The Boston Bruins are still basking in the glory of their Stanley Cup win, but many other teams in the league have already turned their attention toward the next season. Now, fans can do just that too since the schedule for the 2011-12 season was recently released.
The season will officially kick off on Thursday, October 6, and the Bruins will be one of the teams with a hope opener on the first day. The Bruins will host the Philadelphia Flyers. Also playing on October 6 are the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs (in Toronto) and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks (in Vancouver).
Another game that NHL fans should take notice of is on October 9. That day will feature the very first NHL home game of the newest NHL team in Winnipeg, which is the team that is set to move from Atlanta. The Winnipeg team (which doesn’t yet have a name) will host the Montreal Canadiens on that day. Check the schedule to see when your favorite team holds its home opener. Then be there by getting NHL tickets from StubHub.
