Over the years, advances in technology have changed the game of football, like the many angles that cameras can capture on a single play in order to determine the correct call. With all of the advances, though, many parts of football have remained relatively low-tech.
Take, for instance, the playbooks that are a sideline staple for all of the NFL teams. According to an article on CNET, that fact could be chancing in the coming years. The teams in the NFL could be using iPad or another tablet computer instead of a playbook, which would inevitably be much more useful than the paper versions they are lugging around right now.
The article talked to the Dallas Cowboys’ head of technology, Pete Walsh. Walsh had extensive visions for what new technology could bring to the sideline, but he also expressed that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has concerns about security and possible leaks of their game plan.
