The Dallas Cowboys are making many changes during this offseason, but the franchise can take a little breather to celebrate the success of a former Cowboy. According to ESPN, former Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders received the highest honor in the NFL by making the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2011.
Sanders played with the Cowboys from 1995 to 1999, a productive part of his career. In his long career, Sanders tallied 296 tackles, 94 passes defended, five forced fumbles, 53 interceptions and nine touchdowns. He also had some impressive stats as a punt and kick returner. Sanders earned multiple Pro Bowl invites and was also named the Defensive Player of the Year in 1994.
Joining Sanders in the Class of 2011 are Richard Dent, Marshall Faulk, Shannon Sharpe, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter and NFL films chief Ed Sabol. Sanders’ induction will make him the fifth former Cowboy to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the last six years. See the next generation of greats by getting Dallas Cowboys tickets at StubHub.
