  • Jets Need Strong First Pick
    April 4, 2012

With the Jets going through a bit of a rough patch in the offseason and making some big moves, including bringing in Tim Tebow, they need a nice first round draft pick if they’re to make progress in the AFC East.  Here’s a look at what the Jets might do with the 16th overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

  • Pats Bounce Back, Thump Jets
    November 13, 2011

With the Jets looking to make a statement at home and the Pats looking very beatable the last couple of weeks, Tom Brady took the Pats on his back and gave them a must needed win, one that might end up sending them on their way in the AFC East.  Brady ended up having one of his best games of the season, as he threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns without a pick, which turned out to be more than enough as the Pats’ defense was able to curtail Mark Sanchez in the second half.  After the win, the Pats move to 6-3 and are in a commanding position over the 5-4 Jets, not to mention the 5-4 and fading Buffalo Bills.

  • Jets vs. Texans in Preseason Opener
    August 12, 2011

The New York Jets will open the 2011 NFL preseason with an exhibition game against the Houston Texans this Monday night, wrapping up Week 1 of the preseason. Neither team is expected to start their big guns in Monday’s game, but the matchup will provide the Jets a chance to see their new players interact in conjunction with team veterans – including the controversial Plaxico Burress.

  • Jets Cornerbacks Stick Together
    August 11, 2011

This offseason was certainly one of the most trying for NFL players across the league, and although the waiting period is now over as a deal has been reached regarding the lockout, teams are now scrambling to assemble their forces before the start of the 2011-12 NFL season.

  • Jets Lose Ellis to Patriots
    August 10, 2011

The New York Jets lost a solid player this offseason in defensive end Shaun Ellis, but what might hurt more than losing him is knowing that Ellis will be playing this year for the New England Patriots. The Patriots picked up Ellis after he was released from the Jets earlier this offseason, but when it comes to the rivals’ playbooks, Jets coach Rex Ryan is certain that Ellis can’t help the Pats out.

  • Will Jets’ Veteran Swap Pay Off?
    August 9, 2011

Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets have a new look this season, starting with their receiving corps. Last year’s young depth of Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith are gone, replaced by veteran talent that includes Plaxico Burress and Derrick Mason. The Jets are really taking a gamble by replacing their young (if mediocre) talent with a 37-year-old, 15-year veteran and a former all-star that hasn’t played in the league in nearly three years, yet they know they have veteran talent on their side.

  • Plaxico Burress Begins Tenure with Jets
    August 8, 2011

Plaxico Burress stepped onto the practice field as a New York Jet for the first time last week, but it’s safe to say he’s not yet up to par after spending 20 months away from the green. Burress rolled his left ankle last week as he overanxiously practiced running routes with teammate Santonio Holmes, but he’s back on the field now trying to learn all the Jets’ moves in the offseason.

  • Jets Proclaim Super Bowl Dreams – Again
    August 5, 2011

Last season’s media coverage in the NFL was all about the New York Jets and their proclamations for being Super Bowl champions. The Jets failed to capture the Lombardi trophy last season, but that doesn’t mean Rex Ryan and Co. will be hushed on the subject this year. In fact, the Jets have already begun talking to the media about their confidence in being 2012 Super Bowl champs, and Rex Ryan at least has Derrick Mason on his side.

  • Jets Are After Derrick Mason
    August 4, 2011

The New York Jets just got a prize wide receiver in picking up Plaxico Burress, but could they already be after another receiver? That’s the latest on Rex Ryan’s crew, as ESPN reported today that the team is courting Derrick Mason, released by the Baltimore Ravens last week. 37-year-old Mason will reportedly meet with the Jets today, and if he joins the Jets this season, he’ll be looking at the No. 3 receiving spot. This puts Jerricho Cotchery’s position in jeopardy, and especially because Cotchery has been involved in some trade talks over the last week.

  • Jets Sign David Harris to Extension
    August 3, 2011

Linebacker David Harris will be a New York Jet for at least another four years. The valuable player was the last of the Jets’ “Core Four” – which also includes Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson – to work out a contract with the team, and he will get around $36 million for the contract, with $29.5 million guaranteed.
