Game of the Week: Cowboys at Patriots
October 15, 2011Sometimes everything just clicks into place, and that seems to be happening with the Week 6 matchup featuring the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. The Pats are off to their usual good start, with Tom Brady posting several absolutely enormous games, and the Cowboys have been bouncing up and down in a series of dramatic games. While Tony Romo gutted out a win against the Redskins on Monday Night Football playing with a broken rib, he’s also been the source of plenty of criticism late in the game, as he’s made some questionable throws that have been problematic in the fourth quarter.

Welker Tops Fantasy in Week 3
September 27, 2011With offensive numbers exploding across the board, we’ve seen some huge totals already this year, a trend that is likely to continue with rules that favor the offensive side. On Sunday, even in a loss to Buffalo, wideout Wes Welker was the fantasy stud of the day, grabbing 16 balls for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns, giving him an enormous start to the season that has him ranked as the number one fantasy receiver in all of football. Also exploding on Sunday was Darren McFadden, who ran all over the Jets supposedly strong defense to the tune of 171 yards and two touchdowns. What’s even more impressive is that he had only 19 rushes on the day, looking like the highly hyped back that he was coming out of college.

Brady Eviscerates Dolphins
September 13, 2011Those looking for a show on Monday Night Football certainly got one, as Tom Brady came out of the gates absolutely chucking the ball all over the field. Against the Dolphins in the season opener on the road, Brady ended up going for 517 yards and four touchdowns, easily enough to push the Patriots to a huge 38-24 to open the season. In true Brady form, he spread the ball all over the field, hitting eight different receivers, including Wes Welker for eight catches, 160 yards and two touchdowns. Not only are the numbers staggering but Brady looked just about perfect on Monday, as he was hitting everyone he threw to in the hands against a baffled Dolphins defense.

Mankins Hammers Out Deal
August 11, 2011There are many stars that are a part of the New England Patriots, which often makes the salary cap a difficult thing for the Patriots. One way to help with those numbers is by renegotiating contracts. The Patriots did just that recently with All-Pro guard Logan Mankins.

Jets Not Worried About Ellis as a Patriot
August 10, 2011Whenever veteran players who have been with their teams awhile decide to change teams, they bring their immense knowledge of that team along with all of their talents. This may have fans of the New York Jets worried the next time they face their rivals, the New England Patriots.

Mangini Comments on Ellis
August 9, 2011The New England Patriots are easily one of the most deliberate teams in the National Football League. Every decision by the Patriots appears to be well thought out and intentional, and that is especially true about new talent added to the Patriots’ roster.

Patriots Add Two Veteran DEs
August 8, 2011The New England Patriots have actively been shuffling their roster leading up to the start of the season, and more of those changes showed recently, according to the team’s website. After much speculation, the Patriots made it official and signed defensive end Shaun Ellis, who has previously been with the Patriots’ rival New York Jets. Ellis practiced with the Patriots earlier last week before signing an undisclosed deal with the Patriots. Ellis has been with the Jets since he joined the league in 2000. In his long career, he has tallied 499 tackles, 72.5 sacks, 14 passes defended, one interception and 12 forced fumbles.

Patriots Still Working on Roster
August 5, 2011Ever since the lockout officially ended in the National Football League, teams have been frantically signing veterans, rookies and free agents in addition to releasing many other players. The New England Patriots are no exception.

Patriots Secure RBs
August 4, 2011Ever since the National Football League’s lockout officially ended, the teams in the league have been going full force when it comes to preparing for the season. The New England Patriots aren’t an exception to this climate, and they have spent a good amount of time securing their running back corps. One of the ways they did that was to re-sign BenJavrus Green-Ellis.
