Team Spotlight: Dallas Cowboys
November 26, 2011The woes of the early portion of the season for the Cowboys seems like a long time ago, as the Cowboys rallied to win a tight game at home against the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day, pushing them to the top of the NFC East with a 7-4 record. Tony Romo has shaken off a couple of dubious plays that may have cost the Cowboys wins, and now looks to be having a Pro Bowl level season while guiding the Cowboys back to the top of the division. DeMarcus Ware also deserves plenty of credit, as he’s leading the league in sacks with 14 and giving the ‘Boys a very good pass-rush.

Wild Ride for Cowboys Continues
October 26, 2011If you’re a Cowboys fan, it’s already been a trying year, and we aren’t even at the halfway point yet. Though the talented Cowboys have clawed their way back to .500 for the season, putting them right in the thick of everything, the season definitely hasn’t gone as planned, with a bevy of heart-breaking losses. This weekend, the Cowboys will have another opportunity to show that they have what it takes this season as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that knows a little bit about not living up to expectations this season. In a battle of two of the most talented teams in the NFC, the Eagles-Cowboys matchup is sure to be a heavyweight game with everything on the line.

Patriots Hand Cowboys New Heartbreaker
October 25, 2011The Cowboys were in line for another win, and it just didn’t happen. Though in former games it was questionable throws and passing calls that got the Cowboys into trouble, this time they got burned by going conservative. Leading by three, the Cowboys dialed it down and kept the ball on the ground, giving the Patriots a chance with the ball for only a couple minutes left in the fourth. Even though the Cowboys had stifled the Tom Brady and the Pats for much of the day, Brady led the Patriots down the field and threw a clutch game-winning touchdown to Aaron Hernandez with just 22 seconds left on the clock.

Game of the Week: Cowboys at Patriots
October 15, 2011Sometimes everything just clicks into place, and that seems to be happening with the Week 6 matchup featuring the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. The Pats are off to their usual good start, with Tom Brady posting several absolutely enormous games, and the Cowboys have been bouncing up and down in a series of dramatic games. While Tony Romo gutted out a win against the Redskins on Monday Night Football playing with a broken rib, he’s also been the source of plenty of criticism late in the game, as he’s made some questionable throws that have been problematic in the fourth quarter.

Another Big Test for Big D this Weekend
October 5, 2011After another really difficult loss, it won’t get any easier this weekend for the Dallas Cowboys, as they have to travel to New England to take on the Patriots. The game will come on the heels of another catastrophic meltdown, as the Cowboys had an enormous lead against the Detroit Lions but ended up coughing up the football a couple times late, then watching as the Lions snatched a huge victory away from the Cowboys. The Cowboys have been in every game so far, but they still haven’t figured out how to close out a big win, which has been the criticism surrounding Romo so far in his career.

Matchup Spotlight: Detroit at Dallas
September 29, 2011The Lions haven’t been in many big games over the last few seasons, and that’s because they’ve really struggled to find wins and make them seem formidable. Well, that seems to be rapidly changing, as quarterback Mathew Stafford has led the Lions to a 3-0 start to the season and now he’ll head on the road to take on Dallas, a team that is coming off of a huge win at home against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. In a game that should be a shootout, the Lions will be a very tough matchup for the Cowboys, a team that is still banged up and looking to put together their second consecutive win.

Cowboys Start Preseason with Win
August 12, 2011Yesterday, Thursday, August 11, marked the start of the preseason for the Dallas Cowboys. When the dust settled in Arlington, the Cowboys walked away with their first win of the season by topping the Denver Broncos 24-23. Like most preseason games, the first Cowboys game allowed fans and analysts to get a brief look at the starters and a more in-depth look at the backups.

Romo Ready For Season to Start
August 11, 2011Rewind 12 months ago, and there was much anticipations surrounding the 2010 Dallas Cowboys season. The Cowboys ended up faltering, and it was tough for players, fans, etc. to swallow. Now, the Dallas Cowboys have gone over everything that went wrong in 2010 and are ready to put a tough season behind them. Changes have been big since then, including having a new head coach, Jason Garrett.

Cowboys Coach Recovering from Concussion
August 10, 2011Injuries are just a part of the game when it comes to the National Football League. When that discussion comes up, though, it is about the player on the teams, not the coaches on the sidelines. For Dallas Cowboys wide receivers coach Jimmy Robinson, though, he got to feel what it is like to recover from a tough hit.

Jones Talks About Being Starter
August 9, 2011Like many other teams in the National Football League, the Dallas Cowboys have been making many changes to their team this offseason since the lockout ended. One is in the role of running back Felix Jones. Marion Barber had been the team’s starting running back, but his release means that the job now goes to Jones. According to MySanAntonio.com, Jones spoke about the new role and seems well prepared for it. He said, “You’ve got to be patient. I’ve definitely been blessed to be here, and God put me in a great position. All I can do is maximize my opportunities.”
