Bears QB Jay Cutler Registers
July 19, 2011Right now, all of the players in the National Football League are keeping a close eye on negotiations between the players and owners in the league working on a new collective bargaining agreement. Until a new CBA is reached, the 2011 season can’t start. Players are working hard to keep in shape, but some have other endeavors as well.

Moore Talks About Losing Brother
July 18, 2011The offseason has meant focusing on the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement for virtually everyone in the league, but some players had bigger worries than a lockout. One such player is Chicago Bears cornerback D.J. Moore. Moore has been dealing with a tragedy since May involving Moore’s older brother, Eddie Moore III. On May 8, D.J. Moore got the call that his brother had been killed a day earlier in a suburb of Atlanta after a shooting that is rumored to be drug related.

Fantasy Spotlight: Matt Forte
July 18, 2011After just one year in the league, it looked like Matt Forte was a star. In his rookie season with the Bears in 2008, Forte had more than 1,700 yards from scrimmage to be one of the most productive backs in the entire league, though a rough 2009 season in which Chicago struggled to move the ball made his stock drop substantially in 2010. But Forte ended up with a surprisingly strong 2010 season that should once again make him a decent starter in most fantasy leagues in 2011, even if you shouldn’t expect him to put up elite numbers. As a dual threat, Forte remains one of the best in the league and the Bears will continue to rely on him to move the football.

Martz Talks About Bears WRs
July 15, 2011Right now, the teams in the National Football League are waiting to move on free agents until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. Much of the speculation surrounding the Chicago Bears and free agency has to do with the Bears going after one of the top wide receivers available on the market.

Burress Expresses Interest in Being a Bear
July 14, 2011With the lockout still going on in the National Football League, the teams are putting off signing free agents until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. One of the players who is anxiously awaiting the result of the negotiations is wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Plaxico Burress is a free agent who has been out of the league because of an incarceration stemming from weapons charges.

Hall of Fame Game May Not Happen
July 13, 2011Not that long ago, the organizers of the upcoming Hall of Fame Game between the St. Louis Rams at the Chicago Bears said they were optimistic that the August 7th game will continue as scheduled, despite the fact that the owners and players in the league are locked in negotiations to reach a new collective bargaining agreement. The lack of a new CBA means that no teams are practicing right now, putting the preseason in jeopardy.
-
Forte Talks About Training Camp
July 12, 2011The Chicago Bears players are currently dealing with the lockout in the National Football League right now, which means that they can’t officially practice or head to training camp. The members of the Bears have various takes on the effect of the lockout on the team, and running back Matt Forte is one of the players to speak out.

Rashied Davis Talks About Returning
July 11, 2011Right now, all of the teams in the National Football League are trying to figure out a deal between the owners and the players that would mean the season can officially get started. The 2011 season has been in a standstill since the two sides have been unable to reach a new collective bargaining agreement. The negotiations have meant that nearly all of the teams have decided to wait to make decisions about the free agents hitting the market.

Rookie Wage Scale Still Being Discussed
July 11, 2011With it looking like there really might be a new labor contract in place in the very near future, there are still some issues left to be hammered out, according to a recent ESPN article. For now, the Bears have to sit back and hope that the new deal will be finished by July 21st, the date of a planned talk between the NFL and NFLPA that has been talked about as being the final day of the lockout. One of the major issues still left unresolved has been the rookie wage scale, which has been escalating with the attention paid to the first round in the draft over the past decade. It looks like rookie salaries will be significantly trimmed and that both sides are still debating some of other contributing factors.

Hester Gushes About Honor from Peers
July 8, 2011Many players have earned accolades from various committees and praise from fans. It remains an even bigger honor, however, when players are recognized by their peers in the National Football League. Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester knows this first hand.
