McNabb Could Shake Up NFC North

With the Packers and Bears ready to battle atop the top of the NFC North once again, they could very well have company.  Not only are the Detroit Lions continuing to improve as they look to get back in the mix of things, and with plenty of talent to do just that, it looks like the Vikings are ready to add Donovan McNabb to the mix, as a deal is reportedly in place to bring McNabb in from Washington.  Though it was a struggle in Washington with McNabb, it looks like it will be a much better fit in Minnesota, a team that absolutely needs some veteran leadership out of the quarterback position.

Without McNabb, it looks like the Vikings were going to have to go with Christian Ponder, their coveted high draft pick who was previously in line to start.  Now it seems that the Vikings will be able to put Ponder on the bench and learn from McNabb, which is a situation that worked very well for Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers, arguably the two best gunslingers in the entire game.  Though Ponder is still expected to challenge for the starting role, the Vikings will be a much stronger team with McNabb on the roster, no matter what role he ends up having on the team.
