Kreutz Talks About Lack of New Contract

The lack of a collective bargaining agreement is really throwing a monkey wrench into the normal happenings of a typical offseason. One of the major places where this difference is felt is the free agent market. Most teams would have locked in their players and added new ones by this point, but that appears to be on hold because of the negotiations between owners and players.

According to an article at the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Bears’ lack of action could mean they are in jeopardy of losing legendary center and free agent Olin Kreutz. Luckily, Kreutz seems to want to stay with the Bears and isn’t pulling and diva-like tactics. Kreutz explained, “I am not looking for an advantage, I am looking for a fair deal. I am not looking for an upper hand, the Bears know that about me. But it has to be fair. Whatever the decision is up there, I respect it. I know what they do is hard. They have decisions to make just like anybody in a business. When they decide it’s time to move on from me there will be no hard feelings.”

Hopefully the Bears don’t let Kreutz go to another team. Be there to cheer on the whole team by reserving Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
