One of the biggest moves for the Chicago Bears since the end of the lockout has been the team parting ways with longtime and legendary center Olin Kreutz. The departure was surprising to most, but the Bears closed the gap by adding former Seattle Seahawks center Chris Spencer.
Spencer has been in the league since 2006 and spent his entire career thus far with the Seattle Seahawks. Like Kreutz, Spencer was caught off-guard by the fact that Seattle didn’t want to keep him. According to ESPN, he is ready to make his mark on the Windy City despite anything that happened in Seattle. One aspect of the Bears he is excited about is playing under offensive line coach Mike Tice. He said of Tice, “[Tice is] a really good offensive line coach, and one of the reasons I wanted to sign with the Bears. I think he’s going to be the guy to help get me to the Pro Bowl. I’m excited for him to pull everything out of me and teach me a lot about football, and hopefully get me where I want to be in my career.”
