Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Jon Beason will join his teammates Jordan Gross and Ryan Kalil in Hawaii this weekend, when the annual Pro Bowl game takes place in Honolulu. Beason has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster, taking the place of injured Chicago Bears outside linebacker Lance Briggs.
This will mark Beason’s third consecutive Pro Bowl appearance. Last year, he replaced San Francisco’s Patrick Willis in the Pro Bowl lineup, making his way to Hawaii to play alongside the NFC’s most promising players. Once again this year, Beason has earned the Pro Bowl recognition. Playing in 16 games this season, Beason accumulated 162 tackles, one sack and one interception, making him a standout in his position.
Now that he’s replacing Chicago’s Lance Briggs in the Pro Bowl lineup, Beason joins Washington’s Brian Orakpo and Dallas’ DeMarcus Ware at the outside linebacker position for the NFC. Orakpo and Ware are the starters. Fellow Panther Ryan Kalil is the backup for Dallas’ Andre Gurode at center, and Jordan Gross is a starter at offensive tackle along with Atlanta’s Tyson Clabo.
