Tressel Apologizes, Moves On

Though it’s unclear exactly what will transpire with the Ohio State football program in the wake of suspensions to some of their key players, head coach Jim Tressel it stepping up and taking the heat.  In a recent banquet, Tressel told alumni and fans that he was sorry for the current predicament that they are in, stressing overcoming adversity and moving on.  He also added that he’s sorry for the football team being a distraction as the basketball team snags a top seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.  The Buckeye basketball squad has been one of the top teams in the nation all season long and seem to have a real shot to possibly cut down the nets at the end of the day.

Even with suspensions coming to some of their key players, including star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, the Buckeyes still have plenty of talent and should remain very competitive, particularly with the Big Ten not being as strong in recent years as it has been historically.  The Buckeyes still look to be the odds-on favorite to win the conference next season, though they’ll have to do it from a sizeable whole at the beginning of the season without some of their best players.  What’s clear is that Tressel is more than happy to be accountable and show that there will be no excuses moving forward.
