Thunder Soar into Playoffs
April 25, 2012The Thunder wrap up the regular season tonight with a game against the Nuggets, but fans are looking forward to the playoffs even if the players say that they’re not. As the second overall seed, the Thunder are expected to do some serious damage, though they’ll have to find a way to play team basketball so that they can handle a team like the streaking San Antonio Spurs. Thunder Outlast Grizz in 3OT
May 10, 2011It was one of the craziest games I’ve ever seen. The Thunder and Grizzlies just went back and forth, exchanging the lead and constantly tying at the end of periods. After three overtimes, the Thunder finally came up with the 133-123 victory. After struggling in the first three games of the series, Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook had a huge effort, dropping 40 points to go with five boards and five assists. Kevin Durant was held somewhat in check early in the game, but he came on strong in the overtime periods to finish with 35 points and 13 boards.

Thunder Even Series With Grizz
May 4, 2011After dropping Game One to the upstart Memphis Grizzlies, the Oklahoma City Thunder bounced back in the second contest of the seven-game series last night, taking home the 11-102 victory. Memphis head coach Lionel Hollins noticed that the Thunder were significantly more aggressive in Game Two than they were in the previous contest. “It was a classic desperate team, more aggressive team,” Hollins told the media after the game. ”I say the desperate team usually wins, and they were the desperate team in their play, which was a sense of urgency and aggressiveness.”

Fantasy Basketball Risers
March 3, 2011ESPN’s Seth Landman has a few players that could be on the rise in fantasy basketball right now. The first player he notes is Oklahoma City’s James Harden. “With Jeff Green out of town, and tiny Nate Robinson the only perimeter player brought in to replace him, Harden is going to (finally) be asked to carry more of the load on both ends of the floor for the Thunder,” Landman writes. ”Interestingly, he had already begun to put up better numbers before the deadline; he’s currently on just his second streak of five or more games with double-figure scoring this season (after three such streaks last season).”
