Nets Beat Celtics, Win Fifth Straight
March 15, 2011The New Jersey Nets won their fifth straight game last night, defeating the top team in the East, the Boston Celtics, by a score of 88-79. The Nets have been a different team since the arrival of point guard Deron Williams in a deadline deal this season. Boston forward Kevin Garnett acknowledged Williams’ effect on the team after last night’s game. “We knew they’ve been playing well lately, playing with a lot more energy,” Garnett told reporters. ”D-Will, he’s come over here and gave them sort of like a winning mentality, seems to be working for them. Kris [Humphries] is playing really well for them, Brook [Lopez] is playing really well. They have players that are playing really well, just they’re trying to put it together it seems like.”
