Lakers Explain Losing Streak
April 12, 2011Is there an easy explanation behind the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent losing streak? According to ESPN, the answer could be yes. With many championship wins under their belt, the Lakers have many veteran stars in their lineup, which means the end of the season can get a little tough. In fact, it isn’t the first time coach Phil Jackson has experienced this phenomenon. The last time was with the Chicago Bulls in the early 1990s.

Lakers Lose Two Over Weekend
April 11, 2011The Los Angeles Lakers had a rough weekend, suffering two losses. The first came on Friday when the Lakers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 93-86. Even with the loss, Kobe Bryant managed to score 24 points while Lamar Odom had 13 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. According to ESPN, coach Phil Jackson was less than thrilled with the performance and said, “These guys just don’t want to play hard right now. I hate to have this setup going into the playoffs when we’re just not playing hard.”

Lakers Lose Third Straight
April 7, 2011The Los Angeles Lakers went from looking unstoppable for the past few weeks to going through a bit of a downturn. That happened yet again on Wednesday, April 6 when the Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors 95-87. The loss is their third straight after winning all but one game in the month of March.

Lakers Lose to Jazz
April 6, 2011The Los Angeles Lakers have been having quite the run of games since the All Star break not long ago, but that wasn’t nearly as true about their game against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, April 5 in Los Angeles. NBA Power Rankings
April 5, 2011The top two teams in Marc Stein’s NBA Power Rankings stayed the same this week, as the Lakers held into the top spot and the Bulls remained at number two. However, people might be surprised to see who Stein has in the three hole, the Denver Nuggets. “Maybe there remains a stray question or two about what kind of road team these new Nuggets are … if you want to nitpick,” Stein writes. “But they’re the NBA’s third-best team since the All-Star break (15-4) and an easy choice for No. 3 here.” Does anyone want to play Denver in the postseason?
