Lakers Protest Substitution Call

The Los Angeles Lakers are still reeling from their 96-94 loss in Game One against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. One part of the game, though, has the Lakers crying foul. It happened with only seconds left in the game when coach Phil Jackson tried to substitute in Steve Blake to respond to a substitution by the Mavs, but the refs wouldn’t allow it. At that time, the Lakers were up 94-93.

According to ESPN, The Lakers have sent a video of the substitution to the NBA ‘s league office. Phil Jackson talked about the incident and said, “Right now we’re trying to get ruling from the league on that because I think they misplayed that one.” Judging by comments from a league spokesman, it doesn’t appear as though the Lakers will get far with their petition.

Right now, the Lakers have a something bigger to focus on: beating the Mavs during Game Two. The Lakers get to host the Mavs again tonight, May 4, and a win will help them heading into the games in Dallas. Be there to cheer them on by getting Los Angeles Lakers tickets from StubHub.
