Lakers Even Series 1-1

The Los Angeles Lakers needed a win on Wednesday, April 20 in order to keep up in their series with the New Orleans Hornets, and they did just that by notching a 87-78 win. The Lakers revised their game plan in order to contain Hornet Chris Paul. The game plan meant that the normal offensive star, Kobe Bryant, was instead asked to step up on defense. The series is now tied at 1-1.

The result was that two others Lakers shined offensively. Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom scored 17 points and 16 points, respectively, with Bynum also adding 11 rebounds. Even though Bryant only tallied 11 points, he seemed pleased with the strategy. According to ESPN, Bryant said, “We had a good rhythm today. We found something we can hang our hats on in terms of the intensity and the aggression that we played with. Going up to New Orleans, I think that environment will bring it out.”

The Lakers and the Hornets will face off for Game Three at the New Orleans Arena on Friday, April 22. Fans can be there to cheer on the Lakers during the postseason by reserving Los Angeles Lakers tickets from StubHub.
