Lakers Beat Spurs, Bynum Injured

The Los Angeles Lakers proved that they can rally in the midst of difficulty by beating the San Antonio Spurs 102-93 on Tuesday. Before that game, the Lakers had been having difficulty coming up with a win in their few games leading up to the postseason. Star Kobe Bryant scored 27 points in the game, but it wasn’t all good news for the Lakers

Another Lakers star, Andrew Bynum, hyperextended his right knee during the game, an injury that could factor into his ability to play during part of the post season. According to ESPN, coach Phil Jackson talked about the injury and said, “There’s always concern. We’ve seen him go down a couple of times that have been debilitating, so there’s a concern. It was kind of a freaky play, but they usually are, and that’s what basketball is.”

Other Lakers had impressive games, like Lamar Odom, who scored 23 points, and Pau Gasol, who had 17 points and 17 rebounds. The Spurs rested many of their stop stars, which means that the win may give the Lakers confidence, but it doesn’t say much about their playoff abilities. Get Los Angeles Lakers tickets from StubHub.
