Bynum Talks About Suspension

The Los Angeles Lakers are officially done for the season after losing to the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. For the team’s star center Andrew Bynum, though, he will be dealing with the consequences of the last game of the season for a little longer.

Bynum was ejected from Game Four because of a flagrant foul against J.J. Barea. In the aftermath, the foul also earned him a $25,000 fine for the way he removed his jersey and he was suspended for five games at the start of next season.

According to ESPN, Bynum released a statement following the suspension and apologized for his actions. He said, “My actions … don’t represent me, my upbringing, this franchise or any of the Laker fans out there that want to watch us and want us to succeed.” He went on to issue a personal apology to Barea for the event.

The Lakers are now dealing with the fact that coach Phil Jackson will more than likely not be back next season, which will mark the end of an era for the team. Be a part of next season by getting Los Angeles Lakers tickets from StubHub.
