Heat Cruise Over Spurs

If there was any doubt that the Miami Heat had enough talent to win without Dwayne Wade, those doubts were erased last night.  After looking terrible in the early going, the Miami Heat turned it around in the third quarter and ended up blowing out the Spurs, mostly on the backs of Chris Bosh and LeBron James, which comes as no surprise.  LeBron ended up with 33 points and 10 assists, helping spark the Heat when they were looking pretty ordinary in the first half.  But the start of the night was Bosh, who had another very good game down low for the Heat, and also had the defining moment when he went coast-to-coast for a highlight-reel flush to mostly put the game out of reach.

Though there was definitely some concern when Wade went down, it looks like the team is much deeper than they were in recent years, and it helps that Bosh is playing up to his potential.  Bosh, who had a good but not great 2010-2011 season, has been excelling this year and simply looks to be more comfortable with the team, which tends to happen in a player’s second season.  Now we’ll see if they can get back to finding a balance once Wade gets back on the court, but it looks good right now for the Miami Heat.
