Just a couple of years ago, New Orleans point guard Chris Paul was considered to be the best at his position in the National Basketball Association by many fans and experts. However, injuries and a suspect supporting cast have changed that general view of Paul’s game over the past two or so years. People might want to re-think things yet again, as Paul is playing like a man possessed in the postseason. Paul evened the Hornets’ first-round series with the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers with a triple-double last night, dropping 27 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds in front of the home crowd.
“Regardless of what happens in this series, it was good to see the city with a smile on their face,” Paul said after the game. ”It was fun, man. I’m just so thankful to get to say this is my way of life.” Without forward David West, it’s incredible that the Hornets are giving the Lakers a series. However, Paul has been masterful and is torching the Lake Show with his dribble penetration. Paul has no real weakness in his game and is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now.
