  • Halladay Pitches Gem in SD

    Some days it’s just not fair.  Sometimes you just can’t touch Roy Halladay.  This was the case for the San Diego Padres yesterday when Doc took the mound and proceeded to fan 14 batters in a masterful performance that netted Philadelphia a 3-1 victory.  Halladay took a two-hitter into the ninth before faltering and allowing several singles.  “I felt good,” Halladay said after the game.  ”Even at the end I felt good.  It was one of those days where, especially through the middle innings, there weren’t a lot of high-stress pitches, and I think that plays a part into it, especially being able to throw more pitches.  If you’re doing it with the bases loaded every inning, it takes a different toll.”
