Lincecum, Hernandez Still Elite
March 23, 2012Here are the top starting pitching options following Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, Cliff Lee, Jared Weaver and Clayton Kershaw.
6. Felix Hernandez, Seattle Mariners:
Hernandez unfortunately pitches for the team that scored the least runs in the league in 2011, so you can’t expect a lot of wins for King Felix. Having said that, he typically pitches very deep into the game, racks up strikeouts and wins just about every time the Mariners put up any runs.

Yanks Still Cream of the Crop
February 10, 2012You may not like them, in fact you may hate them, but the New York Yankees are going to be right back in the thick of things in 2012. Though the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays are obviously not going anywhere any time soon, the Pinstripes once again have the most dangerous roster in the ultra-competitive A.L. East, if not the entire league. Led by Robinson Cano, the Yankees have a great collection of young and older talent on offense, which easily put them in the running for top offensive team in the league. Pitching wise, the Yankees also made a great move in trading Jesus Montero for flame-throwing youngster Michael Pineda, who should eventually give them a very strong second starter.

All-Around Hitters on Display in 2011
September 27, 2011The days of being a .245 masher with great power and no ability to hit RBI singles is long over, as the top hitters in the league can do a little bit of everything at the plate – except bunt, of course. Guys like Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Jose Bautista, Adrian Gonzalez and Matt Kemp all put up huge numbers this year, with Pujols actually having the least impressive season out of the whole group. Still, each player should finish at .300 or better with Kemp even making a real run at the Triple Crown. Cabrera is even hitting an MLB-best .343 with just a couple games left and both Jose Bautista and Adrian Gonzalez are well over .300.
