Red Sox Ready for Mariners

The Boston Red Sox are gearing up for a series against the Seattle Mariners, and one of the questions on just about everyone’s mind for a new series is who will be taking the mound for each team. The Boston Red Sox have revealed who will be on the mound during the series, and right-handed Josh Lackey will start the action out today, Friday, August 12. He will go up against the Mariners’ Blake Beavan. The next game of the series will have the Josh Beckett at the mound for the Red Sox, and Felix Hernandez for the Mariners. The final game of the series, on Sunday, will feature Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield and Charlie Furbush for the Mariners.

Noticeably absent from that list is Erik Bedard. According to the Seattle Times, Bedard will not be seen in the series. This is significant because Bedard came to the Red Sox from the Seattle Mariners on July 31. Bedard has notched two starts since coming to the Red Sox, and he still has much to prove  with the Red Sox.
