As the saying goes, you can’t win ‘em all. After taking wins in the first two games of a road series against the Minnesota Twins, the Boston Red Sox lost the third game of the series 5-2. The game was a hard-fought matchup that saw little scoring throughout the first half of the game.
The Twins started off the scoring with one in the first. After that, the game stayed locked at 1-0 until the sixth inning when the Twins added another run. The Red Sox then turned on the scoring, beginning with a single by Marco Scutaro in the seventh that sent Mike Aviles home. David Ortiz evened the score with a homer in the eighth. From there, it was all the Twins. The Twins came back to score three runs at the bottom of the eighth, which finished out the scoring for the game.
The Red Sox are still on top of the American League East, just ahead of the New York Yankees. The Red Sox will remain on the road for their next series, which begins on Friday in Seattle against the Seattle Mariners. Be there to cheer on the Red Sox by getting Boston Red Sox tickets from StubHub.
